Upgrade from Jenkins 2.319.1 to 2.440.3

The current version of Jenkins we are using is 2.319.1.
We want to upgrade to the latest version, 2.440.3.

We are not sure if simply using the automatic upgrade provided by Jenkins notifications would cause any issues.

In the past, when upgrading Jenkins versions, there have been instances where plugins were not available for the new Jenkins version, resulting in all settings being broken.

How can we update to the latest version without encountering plugin errors?

plugins are normally upward compatible, but you definitely need to update all plugins during the upgrade.
Make sure to take a backup before doing any upgrade activity so you can always revert to the previous state
