Hello,
As we move forward towards the Jenkins GSoC project selection, the Org Admin team has reviewed the mentoring availability and capacity for the lined-up project ideas.
We came to the conclusion that we have to withdraw three project ideas:
- Exponential backoff and jitter for agent reconnections
- Displaying of Plugin Health Scores
- Jenkins Configuration as Code (JCasC) drift detector
We take very seriously our responsibility to organise a successful, fruitful, meaningful, and enjoyable GSoC 2023 for both Contributors and Mentors. Therefore, we took the difficult decision to withdraw these projects because we were not able to provide the required level of mentoring availability.
A lot of impressive work and commitment has already been done by many on these withdrawn project ideas. This work is not lost. We invite you to overcome the disappointment and to submit a proposal on one of the remaining project ideas. Don’t hesitate to mention your work (best with evidence) on the new proposal.
There are two weeks left before the proposal submission deadline (April 4).
We can further clarify and discuss the consequences of that decision during the up-coming GSoC Office Hours.
