  • Jenkins in GSoC 2023

    • We came to the conclusion that we have to withdraw three project ideas due to lead mentor resource constraints. PR #6181, communication:

  • Exponential Backoff and Jitter for Agent Reconnections

  • Displaying of Plugin Health Scores

  • Jenkins Configuration as Code (JCasC) drift detector

  • More details may be obtained from today’s GSoC Office Hours recording

  • Rec’d 24 draft proposals submitted for review

    • Thanks Kris for doing the reviews. Mentor review/feedback should be done by March 29.

  • 8 proposals submitted via the GSoC portal

    • Mentor grading starting April 4 - 19.

  • cdCon: May 8 - 9, Vancouver, Canada

    • Co-locating with GitOpsCon, expecting 300 attendees
    • Program schedule is now live
    • At least 8 sessions will include Jenkins in their session: ie Intuit, Fidelity Investments, Arm
    • CDF is organizing a keynote panel with contributors of some of the graduated projects from CDF and CNCF, Tekton, Jenkins, Argo and Flux, which will take place on Monday, May 8th between 10:40-11:00am. They are looking for someone to represent Jenkins.
      • Panel abstract: The lifecycle goal of all projects donated to foundations is to sandbox, incubate, and then graduate. While this is the lifecycle goal it is not always the life of an open source project. To date the CDF has two graduated projects: Jenkins and Tekton, and CNCF has 20 graduated projects including Argo and Flux. These accomplishments were not without the hardwork and determination of the project maintainers, contributors and support of the community. Join us for a panel discussion from the maintainers of Jenkins, Argo, Tekton and Flux on how they went through the project lifecycle and what happens now that they are graduated.
    • Project demo theater: 15 min project demos on both days
    • No project booth space. CDF will have a table.
    • AT looking for volunteer(s) to represent Jenkins for both the keynote panel and demo theater.
