Introduction – Aarav Singh (Jenkins Contributor · GSoC 2027 Aspirant)

Hey everyone!

My name is Aarav Singh, and I’m currently entering my second year of B.Tech in Computer Science in India.I’ve been interested in Jenkins and the open source ecosystem since my first year of engineering. What initially started as curiosity about CI/CD and automation gradually became a genuine interest in understanding how Jenkins works internally and how large open source projects are built and maintained.

I’ve been actively contributing to the Jenkins ecosystem and have had 12 pull requests merged so far. Most of my contributions have been to the AuditFlow Plugin, where 10 of my pull requests have been merged. I also have contributions merged into Jenkins.io and the Email Extension Plugin. Here also my Prs got merged.

Outside of open source, I’ve participated in multiple hackathons and recently secured an internship opportunity with the Government of India, where I’m currently working on a project and gaining experience building software in a real-world environment.

My primary programming language is Java, and I’ve been focusing heavily on it while learning more about Jenkins plugin development, Maven, testing, and the overall architecture of Jenkins. I’ve also worked with JavaScript, Python, frontend development, and backend development using both Java and Python.

At the moment, I’m exploring the path toward GSoC 2027 and, more importantly, trying to become a consistent contributor who can make meaningful contributions to the Jenkins community over the long term. My goal is not only to contribute code but also to develop a deeper understanding of the platform and the challenges maintainers solve every day.

I’m looking forward to learning from everyone here, connecting with other contributors, and continuing to grow within the Jenkins community.

Thank you for having me.
