[GSoC 2026 PROPOSAL] Bhuvan M Acharya and AI Chatbot to Guide User Workflow

Hello Jenkins Community :waving_hand:,

My name is Bhuvan M Acharya, and I am currently a B.Tech CSE student at IIIT Tiruchirappalli, India. I have been deeply interested in computer science and programming since my early school years, starting with basic programming languages and gradually moving toward more advanced systems and software engineering concepts.

Short Self-Introduction

I am currently focusing on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, while also having strong hands-on experience in:

  • Programming languages: Python, Java, C, C++ , Rust
  • Web development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React
  • Backend development: Spring Boot
  • Tools & platforms: Git, GitHub, CI/CD basics

I enjoy working at the intersection of systems, automation, and AI, especially where tooling can significantly improve developer productivity.

Motivation

I am highly interested in the “AI Chatbot to Guide User Workflow” project idea. This project immediately stood out to me because it combines:

  • Practical AI/ML concepts (data handling, tokenization, embeddings, retrieval, and pipelines)
  • System design challenges (orchestration, error handling, contextual understanding)
  • Real-world impact on developer experience

As someone who has personally struggled during my early days with Jenkins—questions like “Why is this breaking?”, “How does GitHub behave differently here?”, and “What is the correct way to structure this pipeline?”—I strongly relate to the problem this project aims to solve.

Jenkins is an incredibly powerful tool, but the initial learning curve can be overwhelming. Once understood, it becomes indispensable. An AI-powered chatbot that can guide users contextually through Jenkins workflows would significantly reduce friction for newcomers and improve productivity for experienced users alike. Building such a system excites me both technically and intellectually.

Open-Source Experience

I am currently working on a large-scale Automatic Advanced Grading System for my college, developed in Java, which involves system design, backend logic, and automation. Alongside this, I actively use Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration.

I am eager to deepen my involvement in open source through Jenkins and contribute meaningfully to the community during GSoC and beyond.

Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction. I’m really excited about the possibility of contributing to Jenkins and learning from the community. I would love to receive feedback and guidance as I move forward with my proposal.

Looking forward to your thoughts!

Best regards,

Bhuvan M Acharya
