[GSoC 2026] OAuth 2.0 SMTP Authentication for email-ext plugin - Contributor Introduction

Hi everyone!

I’m Arpan Chakraborty, a GSoC 2026 applicant working on the “OAuth 2.0 SMTP Authentication for email-ext plugin” project.

I’ve been actively contributing to the email-ext-plugin codebase:

  • :white_check_mark: PR #1503 - Merged
  • :hourglass_not_done: PR #1494 - CI green, review pending
  • :hourglass_not_done: PR #1497 - Open, CI failure explained (pre-existing issue)
  • :hourglass_not_done: PR #1505 - Open, deprecation fix

I’ve also started exploring the OAuth2 implementation by adding oauthCredentialsId field to MailAccount.java as a proof-of-concept.
