GSoC 2026 Intro: Qadir Bakhsh - Interest in Outlook SMTP with OAuth Support

Hi @slide_o_mix and @krisstern

My name is Qadir Bakhsh. I am from Pakistan. I am a Computer Science student currently focusing on Java and SQL. I am very excited for GSoC 2026!

I am particularly interested in the project : ”Jenkins email notifications using Outlook SMTP with OAuth”.

What I have done so far:

  • I have set up my development environment on Zorin OS.
  • I have successfully cloned the email-ext-plugin repository.
  • I am currently working through the Maven build process to ensure I can compile the plugin locally.

As I am a beginner with Java frameworks but comfortable woth Core Java Logic(OOP), I would love some guidance on:

  1. Which specific Java classes in the email-ext repo handle current SMTP authentication?
  2. Are there any small bugs or “good first issues” related to this plugin that I can try to fix to prove my skills?
