My name is Layssa, and I’m a Computer Systems Engineering student preparing for Google Summer of Code 2026. This is my first time contributing to the Jenkins community and to open source in general, so I’m excited to get started and learn from everyone.
I’m particularly interested in the “Jenkins email notifications using Outlook SMTP with OAuth” project. My background is mainly in Java and backend development, and I’ve been focusing on building robust server-side applications and understanding API integrations.
I’ve just started contributing to the email-ext-plugin by commenting on issue #1438, where I’m working on ensuring that email attachments have the correct Content-Disposition header set to “inline”. While exploring the plugin code, I’m also looking forward to learning how to integrate OAuth using the client credentials flow in Jenkins and how to handle token storage securely.
I’d really appreciate any guidance from the community or mentors like @slide_o_mix and @krisstern on where to start with OAuth implementation, recommended beginner-friendly tasks, or any tips on contributing effectively to this plugin.
