GSoC 2026 Introduction: Continue AI-Powered Chatbot - Harmit Jetani

Hello Jenkins Community and Mentors,

My name is Harmit Jetani, and I am very excited to express my interest in contributing to the “Continue AI-Powered Chatbot for Quick Access to Jenkins Resources” project for GSoC 2026.

I have a good background in Java, Spring, full-stack development, and AI. This aligns well with the NLP, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript requirements of the chatbot initiative. I have already set up the Jenkins development environment locally and successfully gotten my first pull request merged into the Acceptance Test Harness (ATH):

Given my experience with AI and backend development, I would love to start digging into the specific architecture of the chatbot.

To the potential mentors ( @berviantoleo, @krisstern) — could you point me toward the current repository for this chatbot project? I would love to pick up a “good first issue” specifically related to this module to better understand the workflow before finalizing my proposal document.

Thank you, and I look forward to contributing further!

Harmit

Hi everyone,

I have put together a first draft of my GSoC 2026 proposal outlining the architecture for the Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline and the chatbot integration.

Here is the link to my draft: GSOC2026_JETANI_Continue-AI-Powered-Chatbot.docx - Google Docs

I have enabled comment access, and I would be incredibly grateful for any feedback or brutal critiques—especially regarding the vector database choices and UI injection methods. I want to make sure this aligns perfectly with the Jenkins ecosystem before the official submission period opens.

In the meantime, I will keep looking for open issues to continue contributing to the codebase. Thank you for your time!
