[GSoC 2026] Introduction - AI Powered Chatbot for Quick Access to Jenkins Resources

Hi everyone,

I’m Ammar , and I’m interested in contributing to the “Continue AI Powered Chatbot for Quick Access to Jenkins Resources” project for GSoC 2026.

About me: I’m a student with experience in Python and web development. I’ve started contributing to Jenkins documentation (PR #9008, PR #9009) to familiarize myself with the project’s contribution workflow.

Why this project: I’m excited about making Jenkins resources more accessible through AI. The chatbot project aligns well with my interests in NLP and building developer tools. I’d love to help improve how users discover and navigate Jenkins documentation, plugins, and best practices.

Questions for mentors:

  1. What is the current state of the chatbot , is there an existing prototype or design doc I should review?

  2. Which LLM/framework is preferred for the implementation (e.g., LangChain, direct API calls)?

  3. What Jenkins resources should the chatbot prioritize indexing first?

I’d appreciate any guidance on getting started and would love to discuss the project scope further.

Thanks!
Ammar

Hi Ammar, welcome to the Jenkins community!

Regarding your first question, you might want to check the Jenkins GSoC 2026 project ideas page (if you haven’t already) and look for the SIG-App-Development or SIG-AI archives, as that’s where a lot of these discussions happen.

Great to have you here, and good luck with your proposal!
