Continue AI-Powered Chatbot for Quick Access to Jenkins Resources

Hi everyone,

I’m Sudharshanam, a Computer Science graduate from Pune,India, interested in contributing to Jenkins for GSoC 2026, specifically the AI-powered chatbot for quick access to Jenkins resources project.

I’ve started exploring the idea and understanding how a chatbot can be integrated within the Jenkins ecosystem. I’m particularly interested in improving how users retrieve information from Jenkins documentation, plugins, and community discussions in a more intuitive and context-aware way.

From my initial understanding, it seems like there’s an opportunity to enhance the chatbot using retrieval-based approaches (like RAG) to provide more accurate and grounded responses, especially for queries related to workflows, plugins, and troubleshooting.

I have experience working with Python, web development, and I’m currently focusing on building AI/ML-based systems, including projects involving data processing and automation. I’m now exploring how to apply these concepts in real-world developer tools like Jenkins.

I’d love to get explore more on:

  • Where the current chatbot implementation stands

  • How information retrieval is currently handled

  • Areas where contributors can start adding value

Looking forward to discuss more and contributing the community.

As its continuation, both the first and second questions can be found publicly, and you should learn them on your own. It’s already provided in project ideas.

The third question, unfortunately, has no specific part, as you might need to prepare the proposal and submit it to the GSOC site.
