  • GSoC update:
    • Ended community bonding period: all objectives achieved
      • projects are now running (coding phase)
    • Very active and starting work together
    • Next milestone is end of July,
      • formal evaluation by mentors
        • Report to be sent to Google
      • Online meetup to share results and highlight progress
        • New contributors not experienced doing presentations
    • Informal 1:1 meeting with contributors and mentors
      • Open discussion of issues, concerns, or problems
  • CdCon | Jenkins contributor summit Recap:
    • Slide deck is HERE
    • We had 10 in attendance compared to other projects which range from 2-4 attendees.
    • Victor Martinez and colleagues shared Open Telemetry plugin and how Elastic uses it; to watch Jenkins job as they execute, allows for cross system, cross product
    • Tim Jaccomb went over user experience improvements (keyboard shortcuts, theming, etc.)
    • Olivier Vernin suggested removing inactive contributors from the GitHub jenkinsci core committers
      • Proposed to create an Alumni group similar to jenkins-infra group
      • Reduce security risk, launch discussion on developer list

    • Possible Open Telemetary JOM in 2 mos - AT will follow up w/ Victor
  • SCaLE19X: Southern CA Linux Expo | July 28-31, 2022 at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport in Los Angeles, CA.
  • DevOps World:
    • Speaker acceptance notifications have been sent out.
    • Speakers are urged to register and to work on the speaker task list
    • Bruno will be leading the planning effort for in person Contributor Summit, Sept 27, 2022
    • Bruno, JMM, AT will work on planning for the Jenkins exhibit booth which includes swag, booth design, booth activities. Anyone interested in joining us reach out to jenkins-advocacy-and-outreach-sig@googlegroups.com
  • MW suggested we invite the new CDF general manager, Fatih Degirmenci or someone from CDF to this meeting. As CDF would like to help promote Jenkins on its channels.
