Agenda:

  • GSoC 2025 - Google’s program page still not updated with 2025 schedule.
    • AT & Bruno will be attending GSoC meetup in Brussels on Feb 1, 2025
    • We’ve made good progress on mentor recruitment. Thanks to all the lead mentors for their involvement in this process.
      • We have 10 potential mentors
      • More project ideas were added
    • High level deliverable once GSoC 2025 program is announced:
      • Submit mentoring org application (AT)
      • Project ideas overview via online meetup (AT & mentors)
  • FOSDEM ’25:
    • Jenkins stand location: Building K Level 2-A-9
    • Planning doc is here. Anyone attending is asked to read this doc before they go. Sign up to staff the stand if possible.
    • We will be selling Jenkins t-shirts, socks (donated by CDF), 3D butlers (donated by Adrien Lecharpentier).
      • We’ll be able to accept credit cards for the first time. Thanks Bruno!
      • 100% of sales proceeds goes to the Jenkins project.
    • There will be lots of stickers. Hoping to have the 2 new illustrations at the conference. We went with Bruce Lee and Avatar the Last Air Bender. Thank you to everyone who helped in the selection process.
      • We all liked V3 of Bruce Lee and the tri-color loop image of the Avatar.
  • Contributor Summit planning in progress.

*We are at maximum room capacity, venue: Betacowork. Thanks to them for the complimentary meeting room space.

  • Bruno is working on an agenda proposal.
  • Officers need to work on updating their portion of the slides. See latest update in Discourse for link to deck.

SCaLE - Southern California Linux Expo, March 6-8

  • AT, Mark, Basil will be in attendance, staffing 10x10 booth

CDF

  • A new Cybersecurity SIG has spun up, it is driven by Tracy Ragan with participation from a retired cybersecurity IBMer with an impressive background. They are looking for folks to join the SIG.
  • 2025 events in Europe are being announced, keep an eye out for CFPs if you’d like to speak.
  • CDCon, Denver CO cdCon 2025 - Call for Proposals Open - CD Foundation
    • CFP will close on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 11:00 PM PST (UTC -8)

Strengthen community efforts update

2024 Year End Recap post - needs to be discussed at the next board meeting re: sponsors image whether they’re in the correct tier. Kevin also updated the post to include infra cost saving measures. Once approved by the governance board post will publish.
