I am new to jenkins and would like to start contributing by improving the website look. I think that the website can be improved to look better visually by improving the current site components or by re-designing them a bit.

Great to have your interest. Development on the website is easiest to configure if you use Gitpod. See the “Getting Started” section of the contributing page for details.
