[GSoC 2026 PROPOSAL] Daren Lim - Plugin Modernizer Stats Visualization

Hi everyone,

I’m Daren a Senior from Purdue University. I’m highly interested in the Plugin Modernizer Stats Visualization project for GSoC 2026.

My background is primarily in React/TypeScript and full-stack development. I recently completed an AI engineering internship where I built multimodal RAG systems and data-heavy inference pipelines, so I’m very comfortable handling complex data flows. I enjoy building dashboards that take raw technical metadata and turn them into intuitive, actionable insights for developers.

Right now, I’m digging into stats.jenkins.io and the metadata-plugin-modernizer repository. I’m currently setting up a local environment to experiment with how the tool exports plugin health data so I can better understand the UI direction for the visualization dashboard. My goal is to create a clean, filterable overview that helps maintainers track modernization progress across the entire ecosystem.

Update: I’ve claimed Issue #26488 to implement dialog-based description editing. I’m excited to dive into the web-ui components as part of my warm-up for the GSoC cycle!
