[GSOC 2026 INTODUCTION] - Pallavi - Plugin Modernizer Stats Visualization

Hi Jenkins Community!
I am Pallavi, a 2nd-year BTech student from Pallavi Engineering College. I am very interested in the ‘Plugin Modernizer Stats Visualization’ project for GSoC 2026.
I have a background in Data Analytics (including a Deloitte Virtual Experience) and I am comfortable with Tableau and data presentation. I am excited about building a dashboard for plugin stats and helping make Jenkins data more visual and accessible for everyone.
As a first-time contributor, I would love to know what my first steps should be to get started. I am looking forward to learning and contributing to the community!
Best regards,
Pallavi

Hi mentors!
I have already started drafting my project proposal for the “Plugin Modernizer Stats Visualization” project.
You can view my draft here for early feedback: [Here is my proposal link:

I am very excited to hear your thoughts and suggestions on how I can improve it before the deadline. Thank you!

“Hi mentors, just a quick update to let you know that I have officially submitted my final proposal on the GSoC website. I am very excited about the ‘Plugin Modernizer Stats Visualization’ project and remain available here if you have any questions or would like me to clarify any part of my 12-week plan. Thank you!”

Hi @pallavi05-06, welcome to the Jenkins community!

It’s great to see interest in the Plugin Modernizer project—data visualization is a huge plus for the ecosystem. Since you’re looking for first steps, a good place to start is usually the Jenkins Contribution Guide.

From my experience starting out here recently, I’d suggest:

  1. Setting up your local development environment.

  2. Looking for ‘good first issues’ in the Jenkins Jira or GitHub repos related to your project.

  3. Joining the GSoC Gitter/Matrix channels to chat with mentors.

Good luck with your proposal!
