[GSoC 2025 PROPOSAL] Kathy Z. - Improving Tekton Client Plugin for Jenkins

Hello Jenkins Community,
I’m Kathy, a recent IT graduate with experience in software development from internships and a current technical job that involves less coding. My techinical skills include front-end development, C++, Java, AWS, Python, and AI. I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to the Jenkins Tekton Client Plugin project to improve its cloud-native CI/CD interoperability and user experience.

I admire Jenkins for its powerful automation features and want to help enhance its functionality. This project is a great chance for me to get back into coding and improve my Java skills. I also look forward to learning more about being an open source contributor from the community.

Just want to say Hi here before submit the proposal

Hello and welcome to this community, @Kathy_Z. :waving_hand:

To start interacting with the project, I’ll quote Mark Waite:

The project overview page includes the code card with links to two of the GitHub organizations we use. Many Jenkins components track their issues in GitHub. Good first issues are a great place to start.
The Hacktoberfest 2024 blog post includes a link to the Hacktoberfest events page. That page includes a link to the Jenkins Jira issue tracker and its friendly issues report. They are also a good place to start.
