RHEL OS upgrade 7.x to 8.6 on Jenkins controller

Hi Team,

We have planned OS upgrade activity from RHEL 7.x to 8.6 on Jenkins server in the coming days.
Jenkins is installed on /var/lib/jenkins_auto. We are planning to preserve Jenkins directory and files.
Does this OS upgrade has any impact on Jenkins ? Do i need to re-install jenkins after the OS upgrade.
Kindly suggest.

shouldn’t impact things. Jenkins only has a dependancy on java. if you do end up upgrading jenkins, make sure you look at the upgrade guide.
