  • Windows Server 2019 end of support in Jenkins container images
  • LTS updates
    • New LTS release: 2.568.3 - 2 Sep 2026
  • Jakarta EE 10 support
    • Breaking change with removal of HttpServerContext, need to adapt to that change in Jenkins core
    • Pull requests not yet submitted for Jenkins core and related components
    • Goal is to update to Jakarta EE 10 during calendar 2026, may not happen until 2027
  • Operating system update for s390x
    • Mark Waite updated from Ubuntu 22.04 to Ubuntu 26.04
      • Acceptance tests for installers enabled again
  • Java upgrade campaign is moving from quarterly to monthly
    • Quarterly critical patch update (like July 2026 - JDK 25.0.4)
    • Monthly security critical patch update (like August 2026 - 25.0.4.1 and September 2026 25.0.4.2)
    • Oracle and Eclipse Temurin have switched
      • AI detection of security issues needs an increased pace of security fixes
    • Eclipse Temurin builds for s390x are not available as soon as x64 and aarch64
      • May result in Jenkins container images splitting their delivered JDK by platform
  • Java 25 support
    • 243 of the top 250 actively maintained plugins are testing with Java 25
    • No reports of issues specific to Java 25
  • Work in progress
