JDK8 images only published for first point release 2.346.1 of final release cycle

With expectations that the 2.346 release cycle would be the last to support JDK8, we have gone ahead and deployed 2.346.1-lts-jdk8 image to production. We’re now experiencing remoting issues and wanting to deploy the fixes in 2.346.2

However, there has been no 2.346.2 or 2.346.3 docker image published because a change was merged, IMO prematurely, on 25 June Removing Java 8 by basil · Pull Request #1356 · jenkinsci/docker · GitHub

It seems like we’ve been tossed a curve ball as we could not have anticipated that patch versions would not be supported. I suspect it may just be a communications problem with the jenkinsci/docker maintainers.

Can JDK8 please be supported for the full release cycle?

Can you file an issue here please:

It was not intentional, the build was supposed to be run from a branch but I think it was forgotten after the first release.
