[GSoC 2025 Proposal] Ryan Jacobs - AI-Powered Chatbot for Quick Access to Jenkins Resources

Hey Jenkins Community,

I’m Ryan Jacobs, a recent Computer Science graduate (class of 2024) with a strong interest in Gen-AI, developer tools, and cloud-native infrastructure. I’ve submitted my proposal for the AI-Powered Chatbot for Quick Access to Jenkins Resources project for Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2025.

About Me:

Gen-AI & NLP Experience: I recently built a commercial proof of concept for an AI chatbot that analyzes AWS CodeDeploy logs using Amazon Bedrock, OpenSearch, Titan Embeddings, and Retreival-Augmented Generation (RAG) to provide Natural Language Processed (NLP) context-aware responses.

Cloud & Automation Engineer: I’ve deployed serverless Jenkins on AWS ECS Fargate, created CI/CD pipelines with AWS infrastructure as code, and developed tools to automate DevOps workflows.

Open Source: I have limited experience contributing to open-source projects such as Questie and sanity-plugin-tags, and I’ve wrote a couple technical blog posts for the AWS Community. I’m eager to gain more hands-on experience with open-source..

I’m really looking forward to collaborating with mentors and contributors to explore how conversational AI can make Jenkins more approachable and efficient for users of all levels.

Looking forward to feedback and conversations with the community!

Best regards,
Ryan Jacobs
