Stage View management / configuration - why do I lose rows

Newbie questions

  1. Where do I find the configuration that is likely causing that for some Jenkins jobs, I see 11 rows including failed builds and the successful builds prior to and subsequent to the fail?

  2. Given the same pipeline phases/stages, what would cause some Jenkins jobs to differ in the way that the Jenkins jobs render the Stage View page in terms of content (number of rows)?
