  • Jenkins GSoC 2026 mentoring org application preparation

    • Alyssa will be responsible for submitting the application

    • V. have created a new GSoC AI Policy at https://www.jenkins.io/projects/gsoc/ai-usage-policy/ to help GSoC candidates to understand our expectations regarding AI use

    • V. helped coordinated with CDF to have a mentor recruitment blog post sent out at https://cd.foundation/blog/2026/01/21/jenkins-gsoc-mentor-2026/

    • Shivay and Kris have been helping with other tasks for GSoC

    • Much activity has been observed across various repos regarding contributions from GSoC candidates which is encouraging

    • Currently we have between 8 confirmed ideas (with one included to be written up) and 11 confirmed potential mentors

  • LTS and Weekly releases

      • Most notable update: A new GPG signing key is used for the Jenkins long term support RPM and DEB package repositories.

      • BOM line updates may be delayed due to some issue with the JDK compatibility issue with the gitea-checks-plugin (version 17 detected for some reason, with cause to be investigated further by Mark over the coming weekend)

      • Many other hiccups along the same JDK incompatibility issues due to us dropping support for LTS version 17 in favor of version 25
