Hi everyone…
I’m Shikhar Chauhan, a second year student at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad (entering my third year). I’m pursuing a dual degree in B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering and M.Sc. Biological Sciences, with a strong interest in computer science and software engineering.
A recent software engineering internship strengthened my interest in backend development and product engineering. I’m now contributing to Jenkins with the goal of applying for Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2027, particularly in areas such as AI-assisted workflows, RAG, LLM integration, and plugin/UI development.
I’m actively improving my skills in Python, TypeScript, React, data structures and algorithms, and machine learning/deep learning. I’m also learning LangChain and LangGraph through hands-on projects and code reviews. I’m still at an early stage, but I’m focused on building consistently and learning from the community.
I am planning to start by contributing documentation improvements and working on “good first issue” pull requests. If anyone has any recommendations for beginner friendly issues or advice on getting started with Jenkins, I’d really appreciate it.
