Hi everyone! 👋

I’m Sriram, a BTech CSE student from India, currently learning Java and looking to start contributing to Jenkins.

I’m interested in Java development, open-source software, CI/CD, DevOps, and learning how large production projects are designed, developed, tested, and maintained.

I’m currently strengthening my Java, Git/GitHub, Maven, JUnit, and Jenkins fundamentals. I would like to start contributing to Jenkins through beginner-friendly issues, particularly in Java-based Jenkins plugins, and gradually take on more complex contributions.

I’m new to the Jenkins community, so I’d appreciate guidance from experienced contributors on:

Which Java-based Jenkins repositories/plugins would be suitable for a newcomer?

Where should I start when looking for beginner-friendly issues?

What Jenkins development concepts should I understand before making my first contribution?

Are there any newcomer/contributor channels or SIGs that I should join?

My goal is to learn by contributing, understand the Jenkins codebase properly, and become a regular contributor to the project.

Looking forward to learning from and contributing to the Jenkins community!

Thanks!
